Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited
Being a HUGE Serge Gainsbourg fan, I am naturally interested in Jane Birkin’s earnest attempt to ignite interest in her husband amongst this generation (which has a rather shallow musical memory). This record has loads of new bands (Franz Ferdinand, Cat Power, The Kills, Michael Stipe, Marianne Faithfull, Jarvis Cocker, etc…) performing classic Serge songs.
CHANNEL ZERO–Vol. 12
Ok, first I want to put up M.I.A.-”Bucky Done Gun” from this sexy Sri Lankan. Next, the Swedish psychedelic band Dungen-”Panda” who’s record “Ta Det Lugnt” has been constantly playing on my iPod for well over a year. Two more New York weirdos Animal Collective-”Leaf House”and Black Dice-”Smiling Off” (I guess soon I ought to start posting some 60’s & 70’s videos too).
